The Green Olive

This place was recommended to me more than 10 years ago.  I was not sure what I wanted to eat and drove back it then decided to finally try this place.
It has a pleasantly casual,  outdoor dining area. I walked to the ordering counter and looked at the menu board and ordered the #8 mixed grill combo, three chicken skewers, and a baklava.

The chicken, beef, and kafta were moist. The spices were not overpowering. The hummus was mild, which is the way I like (not too much lemon juice or garlic).

The baklava's top layers were crunchy. It was slightly on the sweeter side and I preferred it not to be too sweet.

My first time visiting El Nuevo Mundo Market. I was hoping to find a Puerto Rican soft baked cookie/sweet bread that taste like molasse. The area isn't a place for you to wander around. There was only street parking and don't think I would go there by myself.  They close at 7 PM so the selection of food available at 6:45 PM upon arrival didn't allow me to get the roasted pig. They only have that on the weekends. I was so happy to know they still had pasteles, even though they were not made to eat. The prices for the pasteles were the fairest I've seen ($3.25 each). I've ordered them on Facebook made by someone in Lancaster and drove up there to pick them up. I've also ordered some from N.Y. which cost shipping. Those were priced between $5 - $7 each. I was happy to find frozen tostones and had to get some. It will save me a lot of time from preparing next time I want to eat some. Kko Kko Yang-Gopchang

Kko Kko Yang-Gopchang in Gardena has buffet menu or 2 meat minimum combo. I like their brisket and pork belly with kimchi.  The server will cut and start the cooking off for you. The combo includes 1 egg omelet, 1 bean stew, and 1 cheese corn to share and banchans that can be refilled.
