Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

I've been to Kura Revolving Sushi Bar years ago and have not gone back. There was always some wait time there. Now they have an app where you can reserve and head over to wait less in front of the restaurant
There are now coverings in the plates on the revolving belt, which is a good thing.

You can browse through a 15+ plus menu on the monitor in front of you and order. The lowest level of belt is free for all, but your placed orders on the monitor will be delivered to you on the 2nd level belt. It was fun to see the expression on kids faces as the food makes their way around the restaurant.

I ordered 1 appetitzer: garlic ponzu sashimi. I hardly tasted the ponzu or garlic, but the sashimi were descent, not fishy or slimy. I used a lot of wasabi and soy sauce to give it some taste.
The 2 beef plates I ordered were descent. The seared beef with Yakiniku sauce was dressed lightly with sesame oil and bbq sauce was not strong, the meat was seasoned and it had a nice charred taste. The Umami seared beef was pretty good, the flavor was light, but still seasoned and had a nice charred taste.
The spicy tuna meat on crispy rice was not spicy, crunchy, and tasty, just as I remembered it.
I got the bluefin otoro from the belt and it was warm and had a fishy taste so I spat it out. Make sure you order that one fresh off the monitor if you are going to get it.

I like how you'd feed the plates in the slot. The operation is efficient. I think it is the only dine-in fast sushi experience you can get in the southbay. Don't expect high quality grade sauce, oil, meat, and fish, but descent quality and taste for the value and variety.

I got too full, else I would have tried the new item - sockeye salmon. Something to look for to next time for a bite under 30 minutes after seating.

Cuban and Puerto Rican Bakery, Deli, and Market in Los Angeles

My first time visiting El Nuevo Mundo Market. I was hoping to find a Puerto Rican soft baked cookie/sweet bread that taste like molasse. The area isn't a place for you to wander around. There was only street parking and don't think I would go there by myself.  They close at 7 PM so the selection of food available at 6:45 PM upon arrival didn't allow me to get the roasted pig. They only have that on the weekends. I was so happy to know they still had pasteles, even though they were not made to eat. The prices for the pasteles were the fairest I've seen ($3.25 each). I've ordered them on Facebook made by someone in Lancaster and drove up there to pick them up. I've also ordered some from N.Y. which cost shipping. Those were priced between $5 - $7 each. I was happy to find frozen tostones and had to get some. It will save me a lot of time from preparing next time I want to eat some. Although they didn't have the molasse cookie/sweet bread, I was still glad to h...

Kko Kko Yang-Gopchang

Kko Kko Yang-Gopchang in Gardena has buffet menu or 2 meat minimum combo. I like their brisket and pork belly with kimchi.  The server will cut and start the cooking off for you. The combo includes 1 egg omelet, 1 bean stew, and 1 cheese corn to share and banchans that can be refilled.

Welcome to my blog

Hello!  Welcome to my blog that will be on food searching, tasting,  making, and sharing. I've been looking for ways to express my passion for food, from cooking, eating, to posting and decided that I was going to finally start a blog and YouTube channel. I know nothing about video editing, content creating, and social marketing; but I'm giving it my best and I know I have so much to learn. So bare with me on my journey. Background: I discovered the food channel in college and was replicating and creating dishes from learning as I went. After graduating, I got a job and signed up for culinary art. I finished the program and worked part time at night after my day job and on weekends. After some time and long thought, I decided to stop pursuing that passion career as it was not working out financially. I went on to get my MBA. I've never stopped loving the art of cooking and the passion to try new food. I share pictures of food from time to time, but I really want to share wh...
